Just buy it from Valentine directly, if you want a deal then ask them for a returned unit (fully tested, full warranty, etc) but at a discount.

My buddy has a V1 to sell. He has had it for 2 months, sold his BMW and doesnt need it anymore. perfect condition with all the original accessories. 350$ and he will overnight it to you for free.

The best bet here is to just bite the bullet and get it directly from V1.

These radar detectors are in such high demand, that I have never seen used ones go for 'enough' under the price of a new one to take the risk of buying it used. I have seen "WTB V1" threads on many boards (roadfly, M3forum, BF, etc.) and to me the 'used' price isn't usually worth the risk. The only caveat here is if you know the person you are buying it from.

To me, it is worth the extra 40-60 bucks to get it NEW from V1. If the used ones were $150 or more cheaper...might be worth it. Most of the used ones I have seen were not 'that' much cheaper than new.

I looked for a while...then I bought a V1 direct. Very happy with it!

SoCal97M3 - you are right. Unless you have a lot of patience. I found a new version with remote display for $325. Took a while to find the deal though.
