While we are on the subject, would anyone trust any diamond being sold on Ebay? Even if it was sold by a reputable source?

Ex:

A seller like this...

http://cgi.ebay.com/2-86-CT-F-VS2-PR...QQcmdZViewItem

i would say yes. do the same search you did for this piece using clicking on the completed auctions and you will see what sold exactly for how much (the green colored prices). you will notice that people buy and sell these all the tiem.

what is interesting is that for the above seller, paypal only guarantees up to $2k. not sure how and why they guarantee what for how much. but especially from a reputable dealer, i dont see why you would not buy it.

i mean i am buying a watch from a board member at the moment and probably have less protection if something goes wrong with him than i would if i purchased something on ebay and paid for it with paypal or a cc...

that ring is junk for any stone of that size will have been graded by a reputable know lab, never heard of the aagl, there are very few good deals on anything quality on ebay, been there and done that as a seller a ways back. I know people who dump their stones with bad symmetry and chips etc, specifically on ebay.

it is sad that people do that, especially the "specifically on ebay" part. it ruins it for everyone else, both sellers and buyers. there are just entirely too many dishonest people doing business now-a-days.

ebay? never- too many scammers and people who dont pay.

I can take it back to my jeweler, but I can only trade it for other stones/jewelry

its a beautiful piece and would rather it stay in the "communuty" perse.

I 100% agree... in the 1st pic I posted you can see a diamond necklace. That was purchased off ebay.

yes it was nice, but NOWHERE near as nice as pictured and there were definitely flaws.

it wasnt all that expensive so I didnt complain or go through the return process, but had it been a local store/jeweler, I would have not purchased
