Question SUGGESTIONS: Daily Driver Question

Friends,

I was thinking of making a change and combining the benefits of both performance and convenience into one car. Made a recent career change that does not require me to drive as much as I used to, so I was thinking of letting go of the Volvo and the C4S to get a car that had the best of both worlds. I was thinking of an 04+ E55, but then again, sometimes thinking of an M5. Don't know. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this and any suggestions you may have. So, let's set a budget as well. I would like to stay below $50K because just in case I change my mind and want to go back to Porsche in less than a year. Throw some suggestions/experiences out there and I would love to get all of your opinions. Sorry, forgot to mention that I would like a SEDAN b/c we are planning on having kids soon. I was thinking E55, S4, RR Sport, etc, etc. All are different from each other, but I'm open to ideas.

Thanks in advance everyone for the input.

Berk

CLS55, CSL63, RS4 would be my top choices.

500+hp and RWD can be tricky

I saw 997TT...you keep the AWD and you get more power than the C4S

I have thought down these lines before, the first no brainer for me that comes to mind for under 50k is a 05 S4. If you are thinking about kids that may be a little small for baby seats and diaper bags so i am going to throw out a very fun, slightly rare idea out there:

03' RS6 - 450hp TT V8. Power of the S4 and size of an A6, and they can be had used for a little over 50K.

That's an easy one. This should fit the bill nicely.

Mallett V over the M5 or E55

I would do the RS4 for daily use.

Great suggestions. I agree Chris about the S4, but the concern is the small rear seat for all those "CHORES" if you will. That's why I thought the E55 had more space, but the RS6 I need to look into.

Id get a 1 year used s4 for around 45k, or if it's too small, you might want to look into a low mileage m5. Maybe an 03 or sumn. The last generation m5's were sweet, and you could probably get a sweet deal on one.

RS6 gets my vote. Followed by M5, E55, RR Sport (ranked by most fun to drive).

Chrysler 300 SRT8

Just thought I'd throw something American out there since all the good ones have already been stated.

Great feedback. I can get a great deal on an 05 S4 right now for about mid $30K w/ only 13K on it. Black on Black and fully loaded. Think it's still a great car that can be modded out to have fun with. The M5 is a serious consideration. I'm taking it the E55 is not worth it from everyone's responses which is making me think twice about going that route. Thanks again.

What does everyone think about maybe the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8???? Any thoughts??
