For those not in a corral how do you plan on getting there? I am taking my girls with me just for Sat, will there be a regular parking lot?

Its probably fair to expect that parking will be at a premium - both in availability, and in price. Some of the parking facilities nearby have been dedicated to those with pre-purchased parking tickets.

best way to get to the race is to take the light rail into the city.

all of the car corrals are in the same area, at the end of pit row.

not sure i would take a cab, the entire downtown area will be gridlocked. at this time, all car corrals will have a window of when you can enter and exit

No chance...look at the PDF map:

Looks like if you want to do a full public transport/rail route you'd need to do Metro from Rockville to Union Station, catch an Amtrak train to BWI and then transfer to the Hunt Valley Light Rail line. WOW! And we wonder why we're stuck in traffic!

6am would be your best bet, but I'm not sure if the garages are open that early. maybe a hotel?

people coming from the south of the city should take the light rail from BWI airport

That is making it really complicated. Mick, I suggest driving to one of the light rail stops south of Baltimore and take that all the way in. It's only $3.20 round trip.

And here's a list of stops with parking:

Yeah...no doubt it's complicated. I was showing how you would go an all rail route from Rockville. Agreed that it would be best to drive to BWI or somewhere else.
