HBL Porsche, Rockville Porsche, or Arlington Porsche?
HBL Porsche, Rockville Porsche, or Arlington Porsche?
I've been looking for a CTT or CS 04-06. Would prefer to purchase from a porsche dealership; but, have not had too much luck in finding them. I know dealerships need to make money; but, it seems kind of weird that they are still asking $30K for an '04 out of warranty. I might as well go private party.
Ideally, I would like to purchase private party and simply pay the CPO fee - HBL is first preference because they are the closest. Has anyone had any success in buying from a private party and having it CPO'd through the dealership? If so, what did they charge you?
I bought my '02 996 C2S in that manner - from a private party in OH. Had a PPI done at local porsche dealership and asked them to CPO it. They had no problem doing that for me. Ironically, nothing ever came up that needed the CPO
... just did normal maintenance. Been a couple of years now out of CPO and still running fine - probably something to do with putting like 4K miles on it a year.
Any suggestions or salesmen you recommend? I've never bought from these dealerships - and, I guess when I go in, they just kind of ignore me. I think the used car sales manager is 'Kevin' at HBL?? Wanted to buy a CS on his lot - never called me back. Non-porsche dealers that have CS/CTT's - seem much more friendlier and willing to take time. I do not know much about them and was asking a lot of questions - porsche guys seemed to get annoyed at me. (I'm in my 30's - would think they would take me seriously).
Thanks for any advice ...

Tischer in Silver Spring has a good rep. They have a very nice yellow 996tt 2002 for $69k. They definitely negotiate.
I bought used locally and Tischer was very accomodating. They were also very responsive to help me get my car to them, then to the body shop after I got hit in July.

Thanks guys ... guess HBL does not have a great reputation. I have been servicing my '02 there - no issues from my end. Just never have purchased anything from them.
If you have recommendations on 'sale' people that could keep me apprised of cars at Tischer/Annapolis, etc.. I would appreciate it. Going to take a look at an '04 CTT today.

Casey at Tischer and Mike at Annapolis are great guys to start the conversation.
Bought my GT3 from Champion Porsche down in FL back in early 2007. Cost $1700 or something to do the CPO. They found that two rear tires and all the brake pads are under minimum thickness so they replaced it. Well worth it considering you also get 2 extra years of warranty (6 years total).
