new cruise night

If you've nothing else to do Sat eve., 9/12:

The last few weekends at the Holy Donut in Burtonsville, MD some guys have been handing out flyers about a new cruise night running for 5 consecutive Saturdays, starting around 4 pm I believe.

It is for 1990 and newer cars only, kind of in reaction to the many car shows and cruise ins (Saturday nights big one in Glen Burnie, for 1984 and older, being among the notable) for older cars only.

At the Donut, I spoke to one of the organizers, and he kept mentioning how it will be something for newer muscle cars. I'm presuming they're meaning the new Mustangs, Challengers, Camaros, Vette's and possibly the hemi derivatives such Chargers, Magnums and some trucks.

The cruise in will be in the shopping center in Laurel/MD City, just off of 295 on 198 West. It literally is right where 198 goes over 295.

There is lots of good parking. The shopping center has a Panera, a Bob Evans, Burger King, Chick Fila for food. There is a really good wine store there, Corridor Wines.

This is the first night for it, and they really have no idea what the turnout might be. Might be 4 guys, might be 40.

Since their thinking is muscle, might be fun to mix it up with BMW, AMG, Lotus, Infiniti, EVO, WRX, etc...not quite what they are expecting, but 1990 and newer!

Might be fun to check out. I may do a drive by to see how it looks. I didn't realize they were still having the Holy Donut on Sundays? Is that still in the same parking lot or did they move it?

The Donut is still happening, as big as ever, but in the shopping center parking lot across the street from the old location.

Seems like even more cars, but that could be the parking configuration.
