I believe it's 5 years because I got my ticket when I was 20 and my insurance premium took a nose dive when I turned 25 and had my driving record wiped clean at the same time.

i found out that it doesn't matter...the judge will have a record for past 7 years. getting the car's speedometer calibrated tomorrow.
