Been some time, but I think Summit was like $2k for 10-15 cars as a deposit, total of about $4k. That included all the pit guys and EMS workers. I had a friend talk with Maria over there, I think she handles the events.

Kumaiki is right...lets do a track day. As a racer and a certified instructor - I can assure you that you will learn a whole lot about yourself and your car, you will be in a safe environment, you will not have to worry about cops OR soccer mom traffic, or idiots in the left lane etc...etc...

if you want to race someone, simply pull onto a straight at the same speed side by side and let 'em rip ... start from a slow roll (like the back straight at VIR exiting Oak Tree corner) or a fast roll (coming onto the front straight)

To give you an idea in one session say half hr, I top my race car out (full on 5th gear at redline) twice a lap for maybe 15 or so laps...that's 30 or more times in a single session! If you want to drive fast this is the place to do it....

you will not want to p*ssy foot around on the street once you've been on track. You will have a whole new understanding of your car, and realize that you, in fact, are the limiting factor !

Juls - This weekend MIGHT work, got something on Saturday morning early, but worst case, may make Fair Lakes bud. Sorry I missed you at the Katie's last week. Thought I saw your car there.

I find no other word other than embarrassing that ultimately captures the spirit of this sad abortion of a car event that I had the unfortunate displeasure of witnessing that night.

Once scenario of many: Due to the brilliant lack of coordination, a series of unfortunate events split me off from everyone and led me directly behind a grown 35-40 year old man, whose misguided directive for the night (in a less than desirable vehicle) was apparently to impress as many bystanders as possible with his display of lengthy burn outs and consistent lackluster engine cries of attention through the entire length of G-Town.

Naturally, while he surely assumed the response he heard emanating from the crowds to be the combination of both the sound of countless females singing his superior automotive praises and their panties hitting the floor, understandably, it was I who hails from the land of reality that realized we were not bathing in public adulation, but rather basking on the beaches of ridicule as the crowd pointed and clearly stated "look at these gay ******bags thinking they are badasses in their cars, how embarrassing". Great.

Thankfully, the sadness that is Georgetown/DC nightlife ended in all of its 10 blocks or so of glory and the spectacle was over in mere moments. For me anyways. As I looked for parking, I just saw the same group of guys turn around and do it all over again and again.

Simply put, in the huge playground of awesomness that is NYC, a run like this with great cars and even greater people makes sense. DC, who's day/night life consists of the few unimpressive Adams Morgan and G-Town - not so much.

Looking forward to some great runs/event this summer with some awesome cars and even greater people!

Awesome!

Hey Berk, when I sign up for track events I use motorsportsreg. Here you get the commitment with payment. If you schedule the day out far enough and get the deposit covered, then any cars over will bring down the cost per car. Get the deposit amount then commit to the track. This way you aren't left holding the money bag. Since im not tech savy I have no idea how to set this up, but surely someone here can. Just a thought,

Just saw this thread, and I love it! Would love to join in on some cruises around the area. The last cruise I went on was the cruise to the winery, with the police escort out of Arlington (so sweet).

The SP rental sounds great as well! I imagine we would get a bunch more track time than I do w/ my regular groups.

If you guys decide to do National Harbor I can give you the low down on the back roads and other sites in that area (I lived there for over 10 years).

Guys, I'm planning on doing a day drive up to Atlantic City, grabbing some grub then driving back if some folks are interested. Nothing formal, just drive and go. May stop by for a pic in front of the Jersey Shore House.....next couple weekends.....

I'm in, any weekend other than July 23-24 since Allen is taking the car in and detailing.
