I just got home... With a stack of embarrassing time slips! The z06 is WORTHLESS on street tires, I was unable to go WOT in first without blowing the tires off, no matter how much I heated them up... 2nd was just as bad, it was a toss up between shifting slowly into 2nd and bogging the car then having wheel hop issues when I got back on it... And shifting it hard and blowing the tires off again

I my best time was 12.8 with a 2.2 60ft and a 115.4mph trap speed... My best trap speed of the day was 118.5mph

All said, I need drag radials and a line lock or more burnout practice. Once the car gets moving, it's a beast, but it's impossible to get even near the best out of it on street tires

 

^^^ ken get a set of DR on there and you'll be set...trap times looking pretty good, at those traps you're looking at low 12's...

 

Ken - put on some 11" Goodyears or Firestones, and all you will see is blue sky. And don't forget, put your seatbelt on extra tight.

 

I'm definitely on the hunt for some slicks

I ran the M6 for fun - never ran at a strip before. I did about 7 passes and my best time was about 12.4sec @ 118mph. About average for an M6. Considering it was my first time Im' happy with the 12.4 but not my other times. I was spinning a lot on the launches!

A gallon of regular pump gas, worn street tires - my first time without getting the launch down.. ehh.. I was ok with 12.4.

My 60' times were about 2.1 - 2.2secs.
I'd love to throw a couple gallons of 103 Octane in there with drag radials. I'm betting with some practice I could definetely hit 11's.

Cool, glad you had fun! 12.4 is great for your first time out. Drag radials will make a world of a difference. rental days are great for practicing because you can get a ton of runs in!
