MIR track rental Saturday 11/17/12
 

MIR is Maryland International Raceway and is located in buds creek MD. It is regarded as one of the best tracks in the country with excellent track prep. The track is almost at sea level and Maryland weather in November is usually cold and the combo provides for great racing weather.

We will have both lanes reserved from 9am-5pm. One lane will be for drag radial and slick cars only as this will preserve the track prep in that lane. Street tires tear up the vht and would ruin the prep very quickly. The other lane will be open to all tires.

Cost will be $100/car and a suite in the tower will be opened to keep warm with a great view of the track. Please keep the suite clean as this is a courtesy provided to us.

The event will be opened to other nice cars as well and will be fun to watch. If you've ever been to one of my previous rentals you know what kind of cars show up.

It will definitely be fun. There are supposed to be cars shipped from as far as Cali and others trailered/driven from Ohio, Florida, new York etc

You just call MIR and ask to rent the track. They take a deposit and then it's reserved. For a single lane weekday it's minimum $800 for up to 8 cars i believe and $100/car after that. The pricing is on their website. Two lanes the price jumps and weekends doubles. I've done many many rentals the past few years and have built a good relationship with them. December and January will probably be too cold. Also realize that it's their off season so be ready to pay extra IF they even do it

I was there for a couple hours. Didn't recognize anyone. I was the guy with the green porsche and beard if I talked to you :p

Best time of the day for me was 11.3 at 128 mph.

Cool I ran you in my GTR when I went 9.9 I think. It was another great rental and a fun day

Cool. That was my first run of the day and I didn't get the ticket for it because I didn't know where to pick them up yet :p I think I only ran against 3 cars out of the 10ish runs I made. 9.9 is awesome D;

FYI guys, jimmyP is only the 2nd person in the world to go 9's on stock turbos in a GTR! And only person in the world that backed up the 9 sec pass with another 9 sec pass!

997.2 oem intercoolers, europipe stage 1 exhaust and a ecu tune :)

Very nice performance from that set up! Do you have a tiptronic or 6 speed manual? Did you ever dyno the car? Who did the install? A buddy of mine has a 997.1 Tip and was looking to start mod it.

My car is manual.

I did the exhaust myself. Behe Performance did the coolers and tune.

Nice! Behe installed headers, crank pulley and tuned my CTS-V (it dynoed 552rwhp on their Dynapack, but only 511rwhp with the same mods on a Dynojet). It seems like your car is running stronger than a 997TT S...especially given how its PDK is so much more efficient and quick (not to take anything away from your skills). ;)

11.38, not sure why my trap speed is so much higher than my other runs when my 60' isn't as good.

Its all good. I am a noobie at this stuff, its only 2nd time I've had this car to the track. I am still trying to work on launch technique, etc.

I am still running oem Bridgestone RE050A's. I believe there are stickier street tires out there. The oem's should be dead sometime next year :p
