Thanks for the day off, Hurricane Sandy!
I arrived to work this morning, worked for an hour, and was told to go home. Most likely won't even have to go in tomorrow.
Anyone else off because of the storm?
edit: I know the storm is dangerous and doing a lot of damage...I didn't mean for it to come off as offensive or insensitive. If it did, I apologize.

Safely Home!
Last Wednesday, my wife and I took the Lotus on the Amtrak Auto Train down to Florida, to attend the annual Lotus Owners Gathering. We had a great time, but when we arrived at the train station Sunday afternoon, they had cancelled the train. We decided, on the spot, to drive home, even though some people were saying that they heard that I-95 was closed.
The drive back was not bad - we saw practically no rain until we were almost into Virginia, and no winds to speak of until Richmond. We did have a 45-minute stoppage north of Richmond - two tractor trailers involved, which were completely destroyed.
On the drive up, we saw a couple of convoys - ambulances and power trucks, sent toward the storm track by FEMA.
As we neared home, we stopped at Wegman's to get some food. We parked nose-to-nose with another Elise. It had a Michigan plate.
One slight miscalculation - we got so involved in buying all the prepared food we found, we forgot we were in the already-stuffed two-seater car. We rode home with bags of food in our laps!
Hope everybody is safe!

My mom's house lost power and her backup battery for her sump pump failed, so I had to help her bail water from 7:15pm last night through 9:15am this morning, taking a couple 30 minute naps here and there. Freakin exhausted...but things could have been worse. At least we didn't have a tree through the house. My apartment has had power the whole time, luckily.
I worked a few hours yesterday morning then decided to go home just incase it got really bad.
No damage or power loss through the night.
Decided to go to work today because I was bored sitting at home. There is maybe 20 people in the office so its been quiet and rather productive.
