Willi is a good guy and means well. In regard to the article, I hear it's a bit exaggerated. At the end of the day, however, Willi has a point in which that kind of driving behavior belongs at a track.

They deserve whatever they get and I hope its a lot. I'd take all thier licenses for a good long while, and being in VA and the publicity its gotten I'd bet it may end up being a lot more than that.... whatever it ends up being is a lot less than what it would be to whomever they might have ended up killing for their little boy-racer internet jollies. Bunch of ******* IMO.
I've read your post bud.... It makes perfect sense and I second it.

I have to agree. Drive like and a***ole, face the consequences. Speeding ticket, impounded vehicle and jail time (completely warranted here, in my opinion), or the business end of a baseball bat/Sig.40 (if it had been one of my kids run off the road and hurt/killed). Take your chances. Have fun. I hope it's worth it.

Cliffy and Bull...I knew it was gonna happen at some point. I'm gonna let you two work it out...we probably have some of the strongest personalities and opinions amongst the 3 of us...I've gotten into it with both of you before lol

...as for the article I've read it...I'm just amazed it took them this long to make it to the papers ... the street racing schen here haz been going strong since the late 90's and probably before that!

This is why i hardly come to these car forums. Everyone in here breaks the law by speeding everyday. All you ****** bags who have something negative to say have broken the law by speeding many many times.

It's okay when you do it because, of all the bul**** reasons you give yourself. When people see a bunch of nice cars driving even 80 they get pissed and call the cops, thats what people do. I come here on these forums to see some cool vids and post with people i think i can relate to, but this is turning into the cycling forum as soon as someone post a video.

Everyone wants to be judge, jury and etc.....

I would agree on your personality comment. I know I'm a pain in the a$$. As fer as the street racing scene is concerned.it predates my driving days. In the late 60's I grew up in Philly. We used to race our cars on front street. Sometimes the cops chased us away and other times they would just watch. When we were done it was off to Pat's Steaks.

I agree with the post referencing the fact that everyone on here speeds and more than likely on a regular basis. Every weekend somewhere in this country there's a group of car guys out on the roads enjoying their cars. And, in every group there's at least one that dances to the tune of his own drummer. Then again, I've tracked my cars on many occasions and there's always one or more drivers there that have no problem putting other drivers on the track in danger. It's human nature and it will always be a problem.

The Mischief guys just happened to bump into the wrong guy at the wrong time. It happens!!! As far as the article is concerned, I had my time working in the eye of the public and dealing with the press. The incident happened, did it take place as the article reads, at best, knowing the press, I would say the article is only 50% accurate. There are many lessons to be learned here but the one that sticks out to me, don't use a Go-Pro!!!

Bull, you hit the nail on the head. This article is ridiculously blown out proportion. Whatever happened to responsible journalism???

And I'm sorry but people that preach about speed limits... you do realize that they are just cash generators? Look at the cameras popping up in school zones in SOMD to "protect children" Why are they taking photos at 1am then? And in zones where the school is a mile and half off the road where there has never ever been a child struck by a car? It's all BS. I'm not saying I'm a great driver, but I'm attentive at the wheel. And drivers not paying attention is the leading cause of road accidents... not speed. And my car is definitely more capable of handling speed than a POS civic. So if I want to do 10-15mph above the limit and go around you safely... chill out. Transit laws need a serious redrafting and common sense needs to make a serious comeback. Fact: Speed has never killed one single person ever... its suddenly becoming stationary that gets you.

Seriously though, I've seen some the Mischief guys in action and they go beyond "spirited". This was coming to them eventually.

Yes, we all speed. I'm sure that one or two of us even roll through a stop sign without coming to a COMPLETE stop. However, there's a big difference between rolling down the highway at 75-80 and passing on a twisty road while running other drivers into the grass. I, for one, and glad that you don't come these forums much (with your sanctimonious, self-righteous attitude). Go home.

It's a real bummer to see so many people who should be coming together in a spirit of 'community' and a sharing and celebration of our passions, turn to juvenile name calling and passing judgment on incomplete information of an event we weren't there for performed by people we might not know.
I say, if you don't have something somewhat productive to say, keep your ****ing mouth shut, and go drive the way you're comfortable with.

Everyone has driven or still drives like an idiot sometimes, I do. Myself and Sunir have rolled with these folks back in the day for years but as I see it we have both grown out of that phase of "Hey look at me, I just did something stupid that will get me a lot of attention", and gone on to other things that make money responsibly.... bottom line.... .... let them do what they like and deal with what is dealt.... I do and always will.

Now come on, let's get real... If you own a nice car like most of us there will always be the "Look at Me" syndrome... It's OK, everyone has some need for recognition in one form or another, good or bad... That's human nature and it's never going to change...

As far as name calling is concerned which I have guilty of from time to time. I agree with Kevin that this is supposed to be a community of enthusiasts united with a common bond. I will say that Dustin at Mischief has always been extremely polite and respectful to me and never done anything to me that deserves name calling.

I agree with this above post. We're all guilty of speeding or breaking the law at some point, some more than others, but most of us are good guys and you also have to take into consideration whether they're contributing members of society and what they do for the community (for example, Mischief recently hosted a meet which raised thousands of dollars for Toys for Tots, the American Red Cross and Hurricane Sandy victims).

To say they need to be hit with huge fines and thrown in jail is a little extreme in my opinion. Yes, they are endangering the lives of others to a certain extent but, as previously mentioned, many of them actually do have some track time and are probably pretty good at driving (although what others do on the road is out of their control).

I'm surprised I didn't make the paper the other day in Manassas. Was merging a little too fast onto 66east and gave her too much brake and oversteered and fishtailed a bit.

I'm sure if it made the paper it would read something like this:

Man nearly kills family on 234.

A man wrecklessly driving a Ferrari sports vehicle (capable of 186 deadly baby-killing miles per hour) nearly careened off an entrance ramp. Witnesses claimed he was wearing a popped collar Polo Shirt and dangerously dark sunglasses - commonly worn in the exotic street racing community.

"I was just durn shocked off ma mind" Cleetus Sanders a local Manassas resident exclaimed, still trembling in fear. "I done reckon he was goin' bout 95 or 100!" he remarked while tightly clenching his 5 year old son against his bosom.

"This inane street racing behavior is plaguing our community!" Deputy Chief Police Officer Important Sounding Title dude said. "I WILL put an end to this!".

The driver of the vehicle has not been identified, but is believed to frequent various local car and street racing enthusiast websites.

The current CEO of Ferrari was unavailable for comment regarding the typical behavior of how their cars are driven unsafely on public roads around innocent women and children.

If I could get the computer to applaud you, I would. I couldn't agree more with how awful media is. But alas, we only have ourselves to blame. We are the populous and so populism reigns supreme over the land of the infantilized.
