GTR Owners in the DMV make a kids dream a reality!
GTR Owners in the DMV make a kids dream a reality!
Thought I should share it here since many of you know Nico and the other 3 guys who participated in doing this good did for a kid.
Some background to this story is here...
"Hello there,
I know this is going to be a long shot but I figured it’s worth a try. So here’s the story: I’m a 6th grade social studies teacher at Poe Middle School in Annandale, VA. The majority of our students at my school are high-needs and minority, and the holidays are a rough time for many of them. In particular, I have a student named O from Morocco that is in one of my classes. He’s hardworking, motivated, and always trying his best. I’m really proud of him and simply put, I wish I could do something nice for him this holiday season.
O is a gear-head, even at age 12. He’s been learning specs about his favorite cars, and every day he wants to talk about cars whenever he gets a chance. I've been teaching him about different types of motors, and how cars work. I'm somewhat of a motor-enthusiast myself. I personally drive an Infiniti G35s and also ride a Triumph Daytona 675 and I've always had an affinity for anything on wheels. I used to be very active on car forums myself, and have spent plenty of hours with some wrenches and jack stands on a weekend.
So Oussama's favorite car is the Nissan GTR. He watches Youtube videos about the GTR and reads articles about it all the time, but he’s actually never seen one in real life. Here's where one of you would come in: I was wondering if you’d be willing to let me show him your car, and if possible, if you’d be willing to let me take him for a short 2-3 minute ride, *edited: or if you could drive the two of us around a bit.* just so he could say he rode in a GTR. It'll be a few minutes of your time, but a lifelong memory for a hardworking, underprivileged child. I told him I'd give him a ride in my G35 or my bike, but he doesn't seem too enthused! I doubt his mother would allow him to ride a bike anyway.
Let me know what you think. If this isn’t something you’re interested in doing, I COMPLETELY understand, trust me. Like I said, it was just worth a try. However, if you are, please feel free to shoot me a PM and I'd love to speak with you and set something up. Regardless, have a Happy Holiday season and drive safe!
Thanks,
"
Nico, Shaun, Brian, and Donald. Props to you guys!

Many of my friends went to Poe. A few teach in FFX. If your students fancy a Porsche TT ride I'm available. Also have access to a Jag XKR-S.
Good job and keep on inspiring our young ones!

Like I said on Facebook, I applaud you guys for sure! An absolutely awesome thing for you to do... Also, we need more teachers like this social studies teacher, bravo, underpriveledged kids deserve just as, if not more dedicated educators than those who grow up with better opportunities!
