TMAC is infamous around these parts
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am visiting friends for the holiday and am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to attend Cars and Coffee on 11/29. I have missed this weekly event since I moved away in 2011. My hope is to run into some familiar faces.

Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend started out in the mid-thirties. The crowd at Katie's started out slow, but we eventually had a respectable turnout. Lower turnout than we are used to? Sure, but the quality vehicles were still there!

So apparently a KCCO sticker earns you a prime spot right out front of Katie's between a Ford GT and a BMW i8?

Prototype!

Chris:

It's subtle, so most didn't notice, but this was, I believe, the GM prototype racer for a new LeMans class - the 2015 WOS (Walk of Shame) class.

In something of a throwback to the old LeMans start, racers leave the track the night before, wearing 'beer goggles'. They are dropped off the next afternoon, and stagger to the car, using one hand to buckle up and the other to stave off nausea. Points are awarded for a clean getaway from the lot, and plausible deniability of the previous night's "date".

Katie's, 12/06/14

Threatening weather (but not actual rain) made for a slightly disappointing morning. Still, a handful of regulars showed up, and more people came, later in the morning.

A light turnout last week, because of threatened rain. This Saturday morning was cold but clear, so a lot of people came out. As we have seen before, slow weeks are often followed by big turnout weeks.

Katie's, 12/20/14 - Addendum

A couple more pictures. You may have noticed that I take care to blank out license plates on my photos. I had a couple of shots today that made sense to show the plates. I asked permission from the owners, and they agreed.

The first -
Jeff E. parked his lovely Lotus Elan +2 next to my Elise. I liked the similarity of our license plates.

The second -
Sunir's Ferrari. You never know what great personalized plate might be available, until you check...

I'm still blown away by this, especially since all of his accent work (calipers, stitching, shields, tach, etc) is all yellow. We were hanging out the other night at his place and I could stop staring at it. How the hell does that even happen!? As a car guy, it's just too good to be true, but there it is!

Sunir asked what I thought of his plate. I told him he should have gotten SMLPNIS

Bob C. great pics as always! I wanted to make it to Katies at least once this year, I was glad I was able to come out this past Saturday morning. It was cold but at least no white stuff on the ground!
