Since basically all Swedes on the forum's in this thread, where/when's the Swedish 6speed meet? Me and the Bronto could d to Sthlm or Felix could ride shotgun in your soccer mom mobile down here.
We should definitely do something come spring! Since Felix and I live in Hufvudstaden, we obviously don't need to travel to vischan ... So you boys come here!

The ol' Merc got an oil change not 1 hour ago, so I'm pretty sure it runs better than your Mini right now!

Don't go Bosse-Bildoktor on my beast! It's safely stored as I'm skiing in Sälen.
Hope everything sorts out with your car David.

And yes, let's do some sort of 6speed sweden meet. Hey Davis, isn't coopersweden organizing a meet at Gotland Ring? That'd be superduper and we could hang out at Felix's new crib

Bronto, good plan!
I haven't been to the allmänt section on coopersweden for a while. Since I was having troubles, I've only been to the technical section

Well,
I talked to BMW today, they said that the airbag light was a faulty wire to the seat belt. The leakage of cooling fluid was due to a broken expander vessel and that I needed to change brakes in the back.
I just had my car in for a brake job and that firm said that the rear brakes were fine and the oil level was dangerously low, which is weird cause the car was serviced 2-3 months ago and I've checked the oil level since. So the engine might be damaged, which will cost me...well what DOES a new engine cost nowadays?
So...
the total is $1700 for the brake job and the service BMW did. Oh and I'll be car less for another weeks, making it 3 weeks total. I am this close getting a bus pass.

Got a texy message today saying the car was done. No engine damage to to the oil level, or at least they didn't tell me. That's a huuge freaking bloulder off my chest seeing how much a new engine would run me. I'm picking up the car early next week when I'm back in town. 3 weeks without the car and it's still on summer tires while it's 2 inches of snow back home right now. It'll be an interesting 20 miles home

Still lost some of my love for the car though, when it's falling apart and can't be trusted.

Glad to hear that ma boy!
Are there any smaller roads where you can try out some spirited drift driving on the way back?

Yeah I can understand you there, how long have you had and driven it?
My 'love' for our benzes has left me too as they've all broken down in some ways over the years. The clk decided to take it's own control over the front electric seat while driving and then just blowing the whole electrical system (on the motorway!) last year. Although it works now, some odds thing are happening to it..

Anyway, don't loose your love for the mini, I'm sure it's gonna feel a lot better after this little SPA trip.

Sure, I still like the car, but with the issues I've had lately, I feel that it takes up a bit more of my time, energy and economy than what I'd like. Hell, it's my fun daily driver, not my track car. It shouldn't break down, it should work. Guess I'll feel better come spring, otherwise....well...who knows

No sun, no car, away from the gf, a lot of stress and things to do... and to top it all off, when I was at the dump today to throw away some old furniture, a couple though I worked there. WTF?!

I was hoping to end this thread and my car would be good to go. But my bad luck doesn't seem to end.
I got the car back yesterday and drove it home. When I came home and tried to open the door, I couldn't. First after unlocking the car I could open the door. So basically, my car went in for two repairs and came back with a new fault. I called the dealer and spoke to some mechanic who told me that the work done to the car was not anything in the proximity of the door (closest is the airbag sensor under the seat). Still, the door was working when I left the car and from the feel of the door-opener, it feels like someone really pulled hard.
The car is going in this wed. for some troubleshooting (free of charge supposedly) and they will fix the fault if they find a connection to the repairs, which they won't find because the only two things that seem logical are:
1) My door-opener broke while at the dealer, without any external influence
2) The door broke because of an external influence, ie. someone manhandled the door and it broke.
The latter would be hard to notice if they didn't take the car out for a drive.
I just hope that I don't have to get into an argument with BMW about this and that I can put this matter behind me together with every other goddamn error my car has gotten the last few weeks.
I swear, one more thing and I'm selling the car.
</rant>
