Mini confusion
i think that 40 mpg is a bit optimistic, but the turbo motors are definitely more efficient than the earlier supercharged cars. i get about 30 on the highway at 70-75mph. combined city/highway i get 26 if i'm really conservative, but usually about 24. on the track i get 6.5-6.8! about the same as the vettes that i'm passing.
They are either driving like a grandpa or blowing smoke up your A$$ but I have an S and I don't get anywhere near that... sub 30 in mixed driving...
enjoy it... which area of South FL are you in?
Love the black wheels.. My only issue so far has been the crappy mesh sunroof shade that covers the sunroof... It gets brutally hot in there, I have a white roof and had a plain white decal installed to block the sun... Works great... see if i can find and post pics...

I recently sold my Cooper S for a really nice 06 M3. This was my second MINI (first was an 05 standard cooper convertible). The best mpg I ever got with my modded "S" (240hp) was around 28mpg. The standard Cooper got around 32mpg. I can't imagine a way to get 40 mpg out of either model (modded or otherwise).
Great looking MINI! I like the Pepper White, but wish BMW would offer the MINI in Alpine White as well.
well the mileage is better than what most of you are saying. I have been doing spirited driving like I do for all my break ins and I am averaging mixed over 30 mpg. If I am cruising on the highway I can get an easy 35-38, just can't be doing 80mph. The difference from 70-75mph is about 3-4 mpg. If you are cruising in town at slow speeds its see's 40+ steady speed of course. If I leave the tank averager alone it stays right at 30.0. I have run 3 tanks of gas through it and I get just over 400 for every tank and have been putting in 12-13 gallons. Not quite as good as I hoped, but way better than my SS trailblazer at 15.2 on the highway
lol... This is one of my favorite cars I have ever owned. And nothing has broken yet(knock on wood)
