And now Mini is coming out with a nice "S" version kind of like a GT3. I will scan the artical tomorrow and Post. And I would also just remind everyone that they are also coming out with a convertible in 5 months.

 

I knew about the convertible but what is the deal with this other version? Share some thoughts now.

The Mini Sport
The fastest Mini was seen recently at the Nurburgring. It is a lowered, lightened version of the 200-bhp Cooper S Works with upgraded suspension. It has been created by the Cooper Car Company to compete in the Nurburgring 24 hours. The super S is also acting as a test bed for next year's Cooper Challange race series. European Car October 2003 volume 34, NO. 10

How much horsepower? Does it say?

 

Doesn't say how much HP but I am sure there will be more in next months issue. But I think it is only 200hp but because it is lightened that is why it is the fastest Cooper from the factory.

I recall seeing a MINI advertised with 230hp. I guess it isn't the one from this article. I am very interested to see what the factory offering will be. The JCW kit is so damn expensive when you compare it to aftermarket kits that produce the same horsepower.
