Recently became a Porsche owner again after a 17 year adventure with modified Subaru SVX track-day car and a Lotus 7 replica (avatar photo). Just purchased a 2005 Turbo S cabriolet, black/ sand beige, with 20,400 miles. Really enjoying the car. Lots to learn with the PCM. Live in Princeton commute to NYC. NJ Transit NE Corridor line, 6:15am express from Princeton Junction to NYC for 17 years now.

 

I know of a gent who was commuting for 27 years and we did our last drive home in our Pcars (he retired past winter). He showed me the ropes- where to stand so the doors open up to the stairs in njtransit, 1 train, and shuttle.

I work in NYC 2x/wk now but did the daily commute for nearly 4 years. I leave my house at 615 to take the 655 express train from Hamilton. Typically in the front quiet cab to get some reading in. Maybe on the outbound train then which is more flexible. Also, have you joined PCA? SouthNJ's next social is the lobster run from bordentown to Belmar. In 2 Sundays I believe. We'll eventually run into each other-- it's a small pcar world in jersey!

 

There is a real art and science to commuting. Do it right and you get a good seat. Do it wrong and you wind up in the knee-knocker seats or, worse still, standing. I did join PCA, through the Jersey (obscure German name) chapter. Will check out the social.
