Looking for my third 911...
Hi all!
Looks like the insurance company will probably total my '04 Jag XJR due to deer that appeared out of no-where on a 4 lane road.
I don't need the space anymore since my sons are past the full car seat stage, and I miss my old 911s. I had an '82 SC Targa for 6 years and a '91 C2 Coupe for 4 years before I bought the Jag.
I think I've found a nice, local 996 Cab (2000). I'll report back with pics if it becomes a reality. I need to close the loop on insurance first.
I'm guessing first order of business will be to check the filter for metal (IMS bearing) and get a double din Pioneer 6100nex to replace the stock CD player if neither of those are on the 996 I finally settle in on.
Right now, I'd love to get some hard pricing data. For the 5 or so 996's I've got on my short list, I've seen prices all over the map. I saw where one person bought a '99 with 120K miles for $10K, which is probably not super realistic. I've got 2 with 35K miles and NO service history in the $23K range. One with 68K that's a bit rough for $17K. A couple of other '99 Cabs with 100K each in the $15K to $18K range. What's a "good deal" or "fair" price? Edmunds.com seems low. NADA and KBB seem a bit high.

ok. Well, today didn't go as planned. It went better! I made an offer on a Mirage/Black 2000 C2 Cab 6-speed and ended the day with an Arctic Silver/Dk Blue 2002 C2 Tiptronic. The more I drive the Tip, the more I like it, and that's coming from a 10 year history with manual 911s.
Anyway, pics... because it DID HAPPEN! YIPPIE!
