Talking Hello, new guy here

Hi my name's Kevin (get it? like my username??)

For anyone that cares, I am a future Porsche owner (if all goes according to plan) and a big time automotive enthusiast.

Looking to pick up a 964 eventually, but right now I have a BMW e30 project that has taken up a lot of my time (something about the late 80s euros speak to me). Have many friends and family members in the Porsche community and I personally work in the automotive aftermarket industry in Orange County, CA.

Finally decided to make an account on here after a few years of checking in and am looking forward to meeting many of you and learning more about these beautiful machines!

Having owned an E30 myself I hear you about the 80's Euros.

What are your plans for both?

Extensive 964 ownership Knowledge

Hi Kevin. I have had my 964 for over 10 years. I have learned a lot about this car and it's inherent problems. You will need to replace the steering rack at some time. Happens on every 964. If the ac has been used with any regularity, the evap cooler will have to be replaced and it is under the gas tank and it is one of the more costly repairs. The new evap cooler has a retrofit kit and that eliminates the problem. If you find one with the dual mass flywheel, you will probably want to replace it with the RS clutch package including the lightweight flywheel. it is a price fix also but once that original clutch needs replacement, you are better off with the RS package. All the best to you. John
