Newly registered lurker

Hello all, I'm a newly registered lurker; I've been following the marketplace for the last six years or so, watching the 911 GT3s and Turbos parade by, continuously out of reach haha... By the time I could afford to get one of the older offerings, I have become more financially responsible and understand that having the cash to buy one and being able to afford it are two different things, and about the same time I realized I didn't want to compromise either, so it's going to be a bit more of a wait.

I have always loved the utilitarian usefulness and speed of the performance SUV, beginning with the Subaru Forester XT, but as fate would have it I totaled the one I had, and they're ungodly rare, so as I kept an eye out for another one, I also started watching for an X5 M, because the earlier teens have depreciated tremendously, and they come with the power ready-made with no modifications required, come with an automatic that my fiancee can drive, and have beautiful interiors and nice creature comforts that you can't find in a 2004-2008 subaru.

All that to say this- I recently purchased a black 2012 X5 M, with a USAA extended warranty because it is a BMW, and I figured it was time to actually register on the site so I can join the discussion. I like the X5 pretty well so far, although it doesn't quite match the responsive feel of my STi, and I'm a little embarrassed to admit I was a little disappointed it doesn't bark the tires when I turn off the traction control and tromp the gas from a stop =P
