My name is John Audette from Bend, Oregon. I’ve been involved with Porsches for about 30 years starting with 356’s, ending with 993’s, with pretty much everything in between. My favorite cars are the 1964-1973 longhoods especially the SWB’s. My favorite build was a ‘67 Rally car built using the factory guidelines published in 1968, “Information Regarding Porsche Vehicles Used for Sports Purposes”. I built the car just as a privateer would have built it in 1968, with mostly NOS and refurbished parts. I named it Stubby (SWB).
“Stubby”
I founded and sold three early stage internet companies and “retired” in 2000. I’ve been actively involved with the 356 Registry (served as website technical director for several years) and the Early 911S Registry where I have contributed frequently to the Technical Forum, particularly on lighting. I’ve contributed to “000” magazine.
Whew! That’s probably too much information about an old guy. Time to go have my prune juice. Thanks for having me!
Cheers,
John
