I'm looking for bulletproof manual swap on my 1998 G wagon superturbodiesel doing 1000Nm torque and 700hp and used as my daily driver and weekend extreme offroader around steep soft sand desert dunes. Its got the OM606 engine with a garret compound turbo setup and the AMG E55 autogearbox, which iI beleiev is the toughest benz ever made but she steals 100hp, creates a lot of heat and doesnt give me the gear control I need. Thus the manual swap. Good thing in G wagon manual swap is that there is a shaft between transmission and transfer case that I can custom make. Manual gearboxes I'm looking at include Merc 2.3 16 and CLK500 as well as older BMW 530d, 535d, M5. Om606 adaptor kits for the BMW manual transmission availablr in UK. Also saw a YouTube video about a CLK430 bolt on manual swap using crossfire gearbox. I need all the advice and help I can get .... thanks
