Hi - I actually own three cars that are relevant to this forum and have been poking around here for awhile, so I figured it was finally time to actually register. I own a 2021 Porsche Boxster GTS 4.0, a 2009 Lotus Elise SC, and most recently (as of a few days ago!) a 2007 Bentley Continental GTC. I enjoy getting slightly old cars - like 10-15yrs old - and tinkering with them to clean them up and fix stuff. Not big stuff, like taking the engine apart, but I have gone so far as to swap out all of the suspension components (not in one of these three). I've owned the Lotus for a couple of years and have sorted out the quirks with that one, and the Porsche is still under warranty so I don't really tinker with that at all. So it's really the Bentley that convinced me to register here because I've been absorbing so many Bentley tips and tricks from here in the past few weeks as my shopping for a GTC got serious. Looking forward to learning and contributing!
Thanks! You can’t really tell in the photo, but the GTC is actually dark blue (Dark Sapphire, I think?). But Im definitely partial to black and darker blues.
Now that you pointed it out I can see blue compared to the black. Originally just thought it was the lighting. The Bentley definitely doesn’t look 16 years old. 👍
The GTC is definitely in great shape. It cleaned up really nicely. The prior owner replaced the vacuum lines and front suspension, including the air struts, so I have time with some of the obvious issues. The top is functionally solid but is pretty badly faded and creased. It's the only thing about the car that suggests that it's as old as it is. But since it's a convertible I don't plan on spending a lot of time with the top visible anyway. 😁
