Im a newbie in more ways than one
Hi guys I'm completely new here, new to owning a porche, new to restoring such a bad *** car. And I'm doing this with my 15 year old son.
Here's the back story. Im not sure what model I have. I know it's a 1979 either 911 or 944. I need to look it up. But I paid nothing for this car (well I did but more emotional paying than anything). Until about 3 years ago thus car was a daily driver. The person I got it from had to get it running to move it. When he was able to get it to where it needed to go he made it to where Noone could steal it or start it for that matter. It sat like that for 2 years with both windows broken. He had plastic up but as u can guess lots of mold. I have a list somewhere of what needs to be done to it to get it running. But basically I'm needing everything for it from keys to seats to windows to paint to u name it. Its been sitting in my driveway now for over a year. My son has decided that he wants to get it up and running. He has no history of doing anything with cars. Where as I was restoring a 1977 camaro so I have more experience than he. But I'm worried that Ive bit off more than I can chew.
Now some ppl say that even in the condition its in its still worth money. So I'm not sure what to do or where to start. Ive tried for the year to find even the windows and ive had no luck. Can u guys point me and my kid In the right direction

Hello @Kcaudillo ,
Welcome to 6speedonline !
As to your project, before even looking for parts, such as the windows you mentioned, you need to know the exact year and model, as the 911 and 944 are two totally different vehicles, BUT, as the 944 didn't come out until 1982, your statement of it being a 1979 takes the 944 model out of the question, if the 1979 year is correct, there is also the 1979 924 model, or the 928 model.
Post some pictures, then we can guide you to the proper forum for your Porsche.
