Apparently the white GTR in Panama already has the HKS kit installed on it and its faster than a stock LP640 (straight line acceleration only...) and since this past Saturday, there is a major debate as to whether or not its quicker than a 550hp Porsche 944 Turbo (race car, approximate weight 2,500 lbs.).
Personally, I believe its comparing apples to oranges, as one is a 'daily driver' and the other is a road car turned into track car. Pretty impressive what a GTR with mild modifications can do, but I still believe that the issues with the transmission is its own Achilles' heel, and a big one at that.

 

6 documented failures (by nna) out of 2400 '09 gt-r's, not bad. considering how many launches, mods are actually being done, this is a very small margin. now that transmission upgrades are coming out, combined with lc being removed, i think this issue will go away shortly.

although it would've been nice if nissan designed the transmission to withstand more than 533lb-ft (i think - it was somewhere around there).
