in japan, it is courteous/respectful to wear a mask if you are sick, or have a condition that you do not want to spread.
some older people wear a mask in cities to prevent contracting germs from others that don't do this.

im not saying in know anything about the car but I would think its safe to assume that if nissan charged 80K for the regular model and you get crazy good car then the 140k price must come with twice the smiles and happy screams

This time of year there is a lot of pollen and dust in the air, so many Japanese wear those masks to help with their allergies.
When I was in Nagoya last year about 50% of the people in the city were wearing masks.
