GTR price?
GTR price?
Hey Foks,
i'm considering buying a R35 GTR as DD, been debating between e92 M3, M6 and this. I think I'm going to go with the GTR, what do you guys think?
I know the 09 new BMWs can be had right around invoice, but not sure what the market is like for a New GTR. I'm sure they are not going for over sticker in this economy, what is the best deal you guys have heard out there?
Looking for White, Black maybe Gun metal. What do u guys think?
I know it's my car and it should be whatever I want, but I just want to get opinions and approval from the 6speed family.
Thanks in advance.

I would love to have a white GTR, but I would also love to have a white m3. That's a tough decision right there. I think the GTR isn't going to hold its value, so really search it out and do not try to pay much over the sticker. M3's usually hold their value.
I guess for me the final decision would be how long it would take me to source the GTR. Their great cars though, and their supposed to be great on a daily basis also.

Are you really asking us about your decision choosing between a 911 turbo killer or a new M3? The GTR is twice the car the M3 will ever hope to be stock or modded...........pay the extra 20 grand and get Godzilla or wait a year or two and buy a used one with a rebuilt transmission for thousands less
I have both! After trying to use the GTR as a dd for two months, I ended up leasing the M3. As long as you don't test drive a GTR and an M3, you'll be happy. If you do, you'll realize the GTR is in a whole other league. Warranties, trannies, looks and whatever else people say aside, it is FAST. It sounds fast, is fast and most importantly, it FEELS fast. That's what makes it so much fun. Plus it has the heated seats, ipod, touchscreen nav, etc. Problem is, the ride is way too harsh for city driving and the valet's can wait to get their meat hooks on it when you pull up.

I drove my neighbor's GTR and the ride is harsh even in the softest setting. Whenever you drive over the Bott's dots it feels fairly jarring.
those bridgestone runflats are no help... feels like driving on bricks.
mine is a dd. i drive that thing needlessly. (just today i turned it in for the tcm upgrade, and an oil change - got a loaner, and i forgot my dog's food, and my carseats in the back)
the ownership experience has been great so far. this is no luxury ride, for sure. once you take it to the track, everything makes perfect sense. everything... all of those little gizmos, seat positions, those little 'r' buttons, etc...
i've tested this against many others - vantage, 911c4s, 911t, gransport, z06, viper, xkr, and a few others that were apparently forgettable... the gt-r's price/performance/value/technology made it a very easy decision for me.

yes. Very harsh on poor roads. It's one of those cars that you might try to convince yourself that it could be a daily driver. Just like I did. Like when people wonder if they can use a GT3 as a dd or use a streetlegal dirtbike for a commute. You can try but in the end, if you live in any major city, I live in NYC, it's just no fun.
BUT, if you live in a place that has smooth roads, it's awesome. It really is.
