GT-R hits 11.3 @ 120 with the updated Launch Control
Umm you do realize Drag Radials are street tires right? I know of at least 10 cars that cost no more than 1/3 of your cars price that would eat your lunch. You name it 60 foot times, trap speeds, 1/8 mile traps and ET's and 1/4 mile ET's. Where do you live?
The GTR is an amazing car for what it is and does, to get a car that weighs that much to perform like that is nothing short of amazing. However when it comes to the 1/4 mile its out of its element, in my opinion there are many much better choices if your focus is getting down the 1/4 mile.
i dont know of many $25k cars that can even reach 11s......even a c5z06 wont hit those numbers....I have a hard time finding a car that can have some of the fastest lap times, 11sec 1/4 mile times, 3.5sec 0-60 times, decent rolls, can drive everyday, can drive in the rain/snow, can seat 4 people, still not pay gas guzzler tax...and still pay less than 100k....man do i love the GT-R...but I would probably buy a c6Z06 because I have seen used ones go for 49k...
Bone stock C5 Z06's run high 11's all day long with even one magazine recording 4.0 0-60 runs. And I happen to know of an EVO that recently sold for $15k that will do everything the GTR does, just as well.

And as far as the Evo doing everything the GT-R does - pump gas? Major turbo lag? A fraction of the interior amenities and refinement.
I would even take the DCT in the GT-R over the Evo for consistent 11s any day as well.
Modded car economy car vs. purposely engineered GT = Ricer Math.
this is laughable. and yes, i would challenge you to prove otherwise. give me a lap time of a professional driver around vir, and i'll put up my extremely amateur 2:15's (fastest that i can prove, but i've had better laps).
acceleration is only a small percent of what the gt-r can do...
0-60, and 1/4 times are for measuring performance for comparison only and equate to very little in the real world.
before my tune, i got 11.7's in the 1/4 (without launching or any of that crap). the cornering, braking, and drivability make the car. so which of these can an evo do just like the gt-r?
Read my previous posts, my point was that your calling out for anyone to race you in the 1/4 mile was crazy. The GTR falls short as a car if your only purpose is to go fast in a straight line. It's a very expensive way to run 11's. Please reread the props I gave to the GTR before you guys jump to conclusions.
And Deuce you of all people, how many forums have you been run off for saying your sloooooow Mopar beats up on C6 Z06's?

i wasn't calling anybody out. it was simply a challenge. i don't have any expectations/disillusions of being the fastest car on street tires.
i just like to see fast cars that aren't race prepared. it's just an enthusiast thing. i don't care if i win or lose, i just like watching it.
and i'm not running too many 11's anymore.

i track/auto-x this car primarily, the dragstrip is what i do to do local functions, and to encourage racing at a strip instead of on the streets.
just came from vir yesterday with the wife and i sharing the car. had a blast. this car sucks at the 1/4. everybody knows that. i couldn't let that evo comment go too far.
I'm not banned on any forum AND never ever stated I beat up C6Zs. Of my thousands of posts and 24 or so blog articles, I challenge you to find that anywhere.
I disagree with you here. A bone stock car that runs 11s out of the box with 1.8 or better 60fts is not sucky at all.
Deuce let the owner speak, yes the GTR is fast in a straight line. But its primary focus is taking huge chunks out of alleged track cars in the corners!
I happen to talk to a few of the local GTR guys, both of the cars are modded and no joke. I heard a rumor though, I heard an uprated GR6 transmission is in the works from a company. Talk about a cut price Veyron 1,000 to the tires and a beefed up GR6, suspension and drivetrain!

yup, ppg. gears/clutches look good so far.in a few years, we are going to see some seriously high hp gt-r's, and they are going to be completely streetable.
You're the one that made the comparison to an Evo that sold for 15k. Live with it.
