VR700 Performance Kit for the Nissan GT-R Released

Vivid Racing has taken our experience from our Project GT-R to create our performance package kit, the VR700. The Nissan GT-R, nicknamed Godzilla, has an incredible platform to not only gain horsepower, but improve driveability and functionality. Our goal was to utilize safe and reliable products to assemble a kit that would not stress the factory motor, turbos, or void your warranty (check with your local dealer first) with these basic bolt on products. As tested on our Mustang AWD dyno here in Arizona, our VR700 GT-R made incredible power to the wheels on 100 octane race gas. Below we outline the modifications used to obtain this performance.

Improving exhaust flow on any turbo charged car is extremely important. Vivid Racing uses the Meisterschaft exhaust system with midpipe to accomplish this. The all stainless steel exhaust features 3 inch tubing with a resonator on the midpipe to give you that exotic GT-R sound. The rear muffler section has quad tips that are more stout then the OEM pieces. The exhaust fits with all factory hangers and is a bolt on unit. To complete the exhaust system and help those turbos stay spooled up without any restriction, we add the 5Zigen catless downpipes. These downpipes remove the factory catalytic converters which are one of the biggest restriction on the exhaust system. The reduction of back pressure helps boost come on much more earlier and you will notice the throttle response.

Next we will improve the intake system. Just like the exhaust getting air out, the intakes on a turbo charged vehicle need to get alot of air in. Agency Power designed and tested these cold air intakes on our GT-R to assure the performance was there. The GT-R front bumper has great air ducting to the stock box. What Agency Power does is utilize a K&N cone filter with top inlet to gain more air flow into the system. The Intakes feature an aluminum intake pipe with a CNC machined MAF sensor mount. Both intakes fit in replace of the stock unit to give you better air flow then the stock box could handle. Our next upgrade is to add larger intercooler piping. At this horsepower rating, reducing the restriction of the stock intercooler pipes can greatly improve performance. Agency Power created both the top and bottom intercooler pipes in 3 inch aluminum to achieve this. Each top intercooler pipe features a CNC machined aluminum flange to install the factory recirculation valves or our Agency Power valves included in the kit. The Agency Power valves are designed to be set up 50/50. This allows air to recirculate like the stock ones, but also vent out some air to help keep the turbos spooled between shifts. This also gives that strong whoooosh sound turbo owners have come to love. The Agency Power blow off valves feature an adjustment **** on the top to loosen or stiffen the spring depending on the boost or driving conditions you are doing. These 3 parts alone were tested on our Mustang dyno and achieved over 30 wheel horsepower.

The final modification that ties all these parts together is the Cobb AccessPort. Cobb Tuning imported a GT-R from Japan months before the release of the vehicle into the USA. This allowed them to get a head start on the tuning needed for this vehicle. The Cobb AccessPort alters the boost, fuel, and timing in different stage maps through the OBDII port. You can easily change the map depending on the octane you are running as well. Each AccessPort includes a pump gas and race gas map. Our final number was achieved using 100 octane which put almost 560 horsepower to the wheels. The Mustang dyno is known as one of the lower reading dynamometers out there. To figure out the crank horsepower, we multiply our wheel horsepower number by 1.25 to get 700.

Vivid Racing's 700HP Performance Kit is available to be sold worldwide. We do offer installation services here in Arizona and recommend you check out our Service Department here for a quote. We also offer vehicle transportation to and from for those that wish to have Vivid Racing install this performance kit.
