Looking at a used GTR

I see a 2009 one with about 2,000 miles for around 70k. Or a 2011 with 9,000 miles for 75k.

Which one would you pick and why? Is the 2009 basically the same as the 2011?

As for the launch control on the 2009, can it be reprogrammed so that it's not as damaging to the drive train?

What are the concerns of buying a 2009 GTR?

Thanks for your help.

No, there are random differences. 2011 has streaming bluetooth audio, revised suspension and braking, and other small things. Launch control is obviously less damaging.

Yes, Cobb AP and 006 upgrade and you can change the TCM settings. The 4500 LC1 on the 09's is brutal.

No real 'concerns' unless you're using the launch control. Lots of the 09's have a bell housing issue that causes a pronounced rattling at idle and progressively gets worse, requires replacement of the bell housing. It is replaced under warranty, but still an issue. The TSB is technically for 09-11's, but the 09's have the most, very few in 2010, and unheard of in 2011's from what I've seen.

For the minimal difference when you get to that kind of money on a car, I'd go with the 11'.

Wow...great info man; thanks for sharing. I'm probably going to pick up a 2012 in the near future.

Most of the '09's have been reprogrammed 2 1/2 years ago with "LC2".

This version of launch is quite soft, and does not require VDC to be off.

This is easy to check for. I'd go for the 2011, though. But for that kind of money, why not go for the 2012 @ $90k?

I find it hard to believe that a car that was sold for $74k 3 years ago is going for $70k now.
