Congrats Scott. Sounds like you made a wise and more 'adult' decision. Having the fastest car around is nice for bragging rights 1% of the time, but a lumpy, loud, and potentially more unreliable car is a headache the other 99%.

Nice Scott! Did you ever take delivery of your other (white) GTR or just go straight to trade? I may have missed the post....

Thinking about a 2012-13 GTR and these type of threads definitely help with the decision process.....

 

It happens to everyone eventually and it's good for me to hear of this thought process. I'm thinking exactly the same thing and looking for a 2013 BE or 2012 to perhaps do a Switzer 800hp kit on with ultimate reliabilty and longevity in mind. Wonder if these build can last 100k or will I need to be closer to 600hp for that? The GTR package is too compelling to pass up.

I haven't seen a handful of GTR's to even hit 100K miles yet, so it is hard to say. Some of the first P800 GTR's are just now eclipsing 30-35K miles without any issues, so it is hard to say precisely what will break or wear out when. The built engine (and transmission) in the Ultimate is an incredible piece, I don't foresee any issues with that given regular maintenance is kept up to spec.
