Forget the new car dealers. That's gonna be a no go. Get on NAGTROC forums and find a local meet or ask nicely in the local forum. Just don't come across as a pscycho and I'd bet someone would give you some seat time. Good luck.

I have test driven a GTR, new. Not sure if I am special... LOL. I have owned and driven many cars and would highly reccommend one drives this car before purchasing. It is clearly a car that has established a new standard, "ruler", so to speak, to measure all cars, but that does not make it neccessarily the best. There is more to the driving thrill than turning a number, but that is my opinion. Heck, if numbers were everything, then go pick up a litre superbike (which I would also reccommend) and really go crazy.

RCauto is infamous around these parts
Visit some local autocrosses. There's almost always a GTR around. If they won't let you drive it, they may take you around as a passenger for a "fun run". I gave rides to people in my STi all the time.

I think it depends on your city, you don't know who may or may have not money in Miami. I think anyone can be a potential buyer.

I stopped at a dealer and asked about a blue Carrera I saw online. We walked out the guy asked me what I drove and pointed to my Carrera and he just gave me the keys. He didn't ask me for anything; I didn't even have pockets and had a sweaty shirt since I had just finished working out.

In another occasion I test drove a Corvette and was asked for nothing as well when I showed up in a Range Rover.

I haven't tried test driving something I know I wasn't interesting in buying. Funny thing is when I was in my low 20s I used to wonder whether I could test drive a Porsche if I came in wearing a tie. I never did... I just got one when I was finally able to get one.

Depends on dealer/salesman. Had a negative experience at a local Porsche dealership, went back 4 years later, same dealer, guy threw me the keys (quite literally), said,"Have her back before closing".
