My GTR and Undercover Performance experience

Wanted to share my experience with Undercover Performance this last week. It was unusual and appreciated. For some background I purchased the car as part of a deal where the prior owner and I traded vehicles and some cash. I went into the deal knowing that there were a few things to be sorted on the GTR as it was just modded with ProEFI stand alone and full E85 fuel system, exhaust etc. Still stock turbos so pretty basic upgrades.

The car was built for the previous owner who sold it not long after mods were added. The car was exactly as the owner represented it, and he also was very good to deal with.

The car had cold start issues and ran very rich, with some intermittent stumbles etc. Being new to ProEFI I did not want to attempt to tune myself (even though I was a partner in a Dyno shop for a number of years and have built and tuned my own prior projects, this is my first GTR after many Porsches)

The prior owner said that Garth (owner of Undercover Performance) had told him that since the car shipped so quickly on the transport after being built, he wanted to make sure they got together to do a final tune. Well he sold it to me before they could meet up being that Undercover is in NJ and owner was in Bay area of Baltimore. Regardless Garth attempted to meet him when he was in MD for a weekend race but the Owner had kids in ball games that weekend so they could not meet.

Long story short, even thought the car was sold to me, Garth flew to Nashville at his expense, spent the day tuning the car, found a fuel pump issue that was causing the odd behavior, swapped them in my driveway (after we luckily found two available at a local performance parts), then retuned the car.

It is a completely different car. Unbelievable

That kind of follow up from a tuner is amazing. Great guy and I would suggest anyone looking for a performance shop with honesty and amazing tuning knowledge to look no further.
