Agency Power GT-R Brake Rotor Upgrade-Technical Write Up!

Looking to get better stopping power on your Nissan GT-R? Agency Power makes this happen with a new front and rear upgraded brake rotor kit for all 2008-2017 Nissan GT-R’s! The Nissan GT-R is fully equipped from the factory with a set of Brembo brakes to give it a stopping distance of 94 feet comparable to cars like the Porsche 918 and Lexus LFA. Weighing in at 4000lbs, the GT-R is very hard on brakes with most drivers cracking the discs even from hard street driving. From the factory, the 2008-2011 GT-R came with 380x34mm rotors while the 2012+ was equipped with 390×32.8mm rotors in the front. All 2008+ GT-R ‘scame with 380x30mm rotors in the rear which also accommodate the factory electronic parking brake. Agency Power’s new 400×34 mm front rotor and 385×30 mm rear brake rotor upgrade for the Nissan GT-R provides a much needed improvement for street and track drivers.

To use the larger diameter rotors, Agency Power supplies a caliper spacer that is designed for either the 2008-2011 or 2012-2017 models. The rotors feature a machined aluminum hat with 2 piece hardware. Each rotor has been heat treated for 24 hours to withstand temperatures of up to 650 degrees Celsius (1202F). The rotors are than coated to ISO 9227:2012 standard of 500 hours during a salt spray test for corrosion. This exceeds TUV standards of 350 hours. One of the biggest advantages of doing a brake upgrade is the rotational weight savings. Even though these were a 2 piece rotor from Nissan and Brembo, the front 390mm rotors weighed in at 25.5lbs per corner and the rear 380mm rotors weighed in at 27lbs per corner. The new Agency Power front rotors weigh only 23.4 lbs. which saves you 2.1 lbs. per corner over the stock 2012+ 390mm rotors. The new rear rotors weigh only 22.90 lbs. which saves you 4.1 lbs. per corner over the stock 380mm rotors. The rotational weight savings is like taking 6.3 lbs per corner off each front and 12.3 lbs. off each rear!

To improve your braking, you want to have better heat dissipation, even brake pad wear, and a firmer pedal feel. These rotors feature a unique pattern with the drilled holes overlaying the slotted design. Also called the turbine pattern, this design was launched after an in-depth amount of lab and real world testing. When tested in the lab, this design allowed for air to be sucked into the surface and pushed out through the vanes like a turbo system. Regular drilled rotors get stressed from the heat and eventually crack like the factory ones do. Slotted rotors are great for the track and do not have cracking issues like drilled rotors. However they do not dissipate heat as well. The new design by Agency Power gives the maximum amount of heat dissipation along with improved longevity of the rotor. With the more effective curved vanes, it helps dissipate heat away from the rotors. This design is used to improve cooling by pushing cool air from the center of the wheel to where the rotor needs it most. It also acts like a heat exchanger to carry heat away from the rotor. With the 2 piece rotor design and the improved cooling, the brakes pads have an even wear on both sides and eliminate potential brake fade.

The Agency Power brake upgrade for the Nissan GT-R is a direct bolt-on application. It can work with all GT-R models from around the world. Whether you are looking for an advantage on the track or its time to replace your stock brake components due to wear and tear, this is the best option for your GT-R. Each kit has been manufactured in-conjunction with one of the leading aftermarket brake companies to achieve high quality standards and has gone through rigorous testing. The kit is sold as a complete front or rear axle setup with rotors, hardware, and hats. This is NOT a disc only upgrade. Replacement brake discs can be purchased separately when necessary as the brake hat is not a consumable item.

Includes:

Pair of 2-Piece 400x34mm front or 385×30 rear Rotors assembled with hardware and aluminum hats
Front or Rear caliper spacers to use the larger diameter rotors
Features:

Rotor hats are anodized MIL-A-8625, Type III, class 1, that uses sulfuric acid treatment to remove the very top layer of the metal and forms a bond up to 0.08mm coating to prevent rust and heat transfer to the hub
Full floating assemblies with stainless steel M8 bolts vs standard M6 hardware
Directional vented, heat treated, and coated Turbine style rotors
The rotors coating have been tested to ISO 9227:2012 standard 500hrs salt spray test and passed
Fitment:

Nissan GT-R 2008+
Nissan GT-R SpecV 2008+
Nissan GT-R Black Edition 2012+
Nissan GT-R Nismo 2015+
