2008 Nissan Skyline SPYSHOTS
I heard that the GTR will be a limited production car in the US. Last I heard only 1800 units will be going stateside. Prices are already in the 80's plus dealer markup might put it in the 100's. Crazy! Again these are just rumors nothing solid as far as facts about the actual production and pricing. If that is the actual car that will be going on sale then it looks like a beauty. Just love how the exhaust and the front fender looks.

Spy photographers caught what appears to be a production prototype of the 2008 Nissan GT-R. The car was seen in testing at the Nürburgring this week in Germany.
The car is based on the highly popular Nissan GT-R concept, first unveiled in late 2005. Earlier this year, the Japanese automaker announced the GT-R would be badged as a Nissan, much to the disappointment of Infiniti dealers. Since unveiling the concept, Nissan has tried to limit the car's exposure to prevent tiring the public.
Pricing is expected somewhere around $70,000. When Nissan first previewed the concept, it said the show car was 80 to 90 percent representative of the final shape. Rumors have indicated the car will feature a 3.2 liter twin turbo V6 engine with 480 horsepower. It is scheduled to go on sale in Japan in Fall 2007, followed by the U.S. and Canada in Spring 2008. Gallery after the jump…

already saving for this.....im hoping that i can get it through my Infiniti dealer tho...i dont know how fond i am of spending 75 grand to get "Nissan" service.
Regardless, this car will be a BEAST out of the box and with some minor tweaks, well over the 500awhp mark!!!
I might sell my darn baseball card collection to get this thing if i have too!!!

I've always wondered what'll happen when the Japanese start building "German/Italian" sports cars. Not 100% sure, but I don't think they've built any sports cars with a greater cyl count than 6, certainly not for export at least. Once they start focusing on V8, V10, V8TT, V10TT, etc, with the applied high-specific-output technologies carried from their small displacement motors, it'll make things very very interesting. I think the market is ready for Japanese exotics, and in the end, sports car enthusiasts will be the winners.
