NorCal SoCal Drive to Long Beach Grand Prix April 18-20th
Hi everyone,
Please mark your calendar for the next event on APRIL 19-20 for a weekend in OC & the Long Beach Grand Prix (LBGP)!
http://www.gplb.com/schedule.html
2008 is the final year of Champ Car racing and our main event for the weekend will be an Exotic car group drive to the races on Sunday, April 20th. In addition, there will be an OC Exotic car run on Saturday, April 19th with a stop for lunch at HOOTER'S in Anaheim. We will have a number of Exotic cars from out-of-town joining us for the weekend activities.
MOTHERS, one of the main LBGP sponsors, has cooperated with us and provided a "discounted group rate" (vs the normal fee of $100 as seen on the enclosed flyer). The exact rate will depend on the final number of participating cars. Besides 2 general admission tickets to all events on Sunday (at $52/ea) plus gift bags, we will also be parking the exotics in a secure VIP parking area (w/patrolled security). The parking arrangement is a very rare opportunity as we'll be occupying the space left by the LeMans racecars that depart on Saturday night! As seen on the enclosed map, this space is off Shoreline Drive and labeled as the 'ALMS paddock' at Turns 9-11!! You will also be able to exit the paddocks at anytime throughout the day.
Please RSVP asap and upon your RSVP, let me know if it's for the Saturday AND/OR Sunday events:
(1) SUNDAY, April 20th: caravan to the LBGP with VIP parking and general admisson tickets
(2) SATURDAY, April 19th: drive thru OC with lunch at Hooter's in Anaheim -> RSVP with number of people in your party
CLICK for map and address of Hooter's, Anaheim <http://hooters.know-where.com/hooters/cgi/site?site=473&address=&design=default& lang=en&mapid=US>
For the NorCal folks driving down.
Departure: Leave on Friday night the 18th lets say leave around 3pm at Santana Row, arriving in Huntington around 10pm (including gas/bathroom stops and traffic) We can of course discuss other departure times. I don’t mind leaving later and arriving in the early morning to avoid traffic.
Returning: Either Sunday (20th or Monday 21st) (people might have the energy to leave on Sunday or some might want to get some rest and leave on Monday morning?
Hotel : http://www.huntingtonbeach.hyatt.com...tels/index.jsp (make reseravations by phone as no cancelation fees) We are choosing this hotel as it's only 20 minutes from Long Beach, on the beach, very nice hotel, parking and will keep us away from all the tourist/people attending the Grand Prix in Long Beach. It will also give us a nice little drive down to the event.
Please provide your details if going like I am providing below.
1. Fred - 997GT3RS
2. ExoticAlex - 996GT2
3. BlkM3 - 996TT
4. Way2Fast – F430
Feel free to invite fellow exotic car friends and please notify me so we can add them to the list. Final details of meeting locations, times, etc will be given to all participants a week before the event.
Thanks and hope to see you soon for a fun weekend!
PLEASE PM ME (FRED) WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS SO WE CAN PUT YOU ON OUR EMAIL LIST - LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE NOR CAL OR SO CAL. WE WILL THEN SEND YOU THE FLYER WITH SPECIAL GROUP RATES.

All, please start spreading the word to your friends. In the next couple days we will update you hopefully on some cool stuff!!!!
I know EuroSunday is having their meet on Sunday but a drive to SoCal to see the World Challenge and ALMS races is an event you don't want to pass up on. Plus we will also be doing drives with the SoCal guys with most likely over 50 high end exotics such as Gallardo's, Murcielogos' Ferrari's, CGT, F40, Porsches, etc.
So please make sure to let me know if you can make this weekend event and also spread the word!

this race is such an awesome one, plus all the events happening around it! You guys will have so much fun! I may stop by to check out the events. I'll already be down there since that same weekend is also the largest Ford car show on the west coast
It will be an INCREDIBLE weekend and well worth the trip!!
So far we have over 15 cars confirmed in just a few days. Still a month away and we have room for LOTS more!
Again, the exotic cars will be securely parked in the ALMS paddocks at Turns 9-11!

- UPDATE: 30 cars confirmed....I expect 40-50 more in next couple weeks!

- Went to coordinate with some folks today and snapped some semi-decent iphone pics...

Right behind our seats...the secure parking area where the cars will be roped off and tours given down each parking aisle. Turn 9 is behind the 3rd trailer on the right:
