body shop for bmw near redwood city for my bmw?
Hey guys.. some idiot didn't see me in a parking lot with his white tahoe and backed into my rear quarter panel. We were both in a 45 degree parking meter, he was on my left. Luckily I was still in the car when he did it and honked, albeit too late as he scraped my car.
Luckily no dent, just gouged paint. I'm trying to figure out if I should do the mobile paint repair https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-touch-up.html
or take it to the body shop. I'll upload pictures tonight. Just wondering if anyone has a good body shop that does great bmw paint near redwood city.
The spot is is pretty small, the size of a fingernail right on the wheel well, then some scratches above the bumper line, all on the rear left side of the call. The small fingernail spot is down to the bare metal. I'm sure it would have to be filled a bit then painted.
My concern is painting the whole panel, at what point does it blend and how much do I have them paint? Do you also paint the rear left door to blend? Or just the fender?
Luckily he has insurance, albeit survival insurance .. ugh that'll be a nightmare to collect i'm sure..

the works autobody in santa clara
Hi 550 bimmer. my wife and I have 2 BMW's: a 325i and 530i and usually get them serviced at Dinan in Mt. View. When my wife was rear ended in San Jose, we happened to have a business card from Dinan for The Works Autobody in Santa Clara on Grant St/Ave near SJO airport. It's a little far from Redwood City but we had AAA Plus so no extra for the tow.
They did a great job on the repair... pretty impressive how high end their clientele are. Lots of ferraris and high end machinery. I think this shop is pretty highly rated on the FerrariChat board as well.

I ended up getting quotes at Mathews Carlsen bodyworks in palo alto, and Benz in redwood city. I think i'm going to do it at Mathews Carlsen as Yelp had great reviews for high end cars.
thanks guys
