Open Paved Area for Powerslide/Car Control Practice?

Does anybody know of an open, paved area in the SF Bay Area where one could safely and legally practice car control (especially in the wet for the tires' sake).
Thanks in advance.

Sorry I don't know, but am subscribing to find the answer as well. The only thing I could suggest althought not exactly legal per say, is go into an industrial complex and practice a little in the parking lot of a company, thats we used to do back in high school lol, other then that maybe try sears point? They might have something ??

If you dont mind going to an autocross we have plenty of events in the area - its not a place where your encouraged to do power slides but certainly car control and putting car at limit at safe speeds is encouraged.

Trackmasters offers a great autocross school where you do skid pad, autocross excercizes all day later this year in November at Infineon.
