F1 Fans
If you want to see what goes on, you need to see it for yourself.
Can someone who has gone to the Montreal F1 race PM me some info?
I am looking for Hotels recommendations, which F1 ticket packages are useful and the transportation options/situation?
Thanks.

too much to drink? Told ya it was June! hahahaha JK man....im down for this 100%...lets start the planning now...and perhaps the Cayenne will roll to Canada in June!
Alright, guys. I am going to need some input on some things before I spend time researching.
There are a few things we need to get in order.
How many people are going?
How are we getting there?
How long are we going?
Where are we staying?
I have a call into my friend who lives in Montreal.
PM me if needed.
Notes:
Drive is ~470 miles or 8 hrs, Flights are ~ $500 roundtrip; from PHL.
Hotels range from 100-700 per night, depending on location. Some downtown locations are full.
F1 Tickets are about 125 for General Admission and 700 for the top end; all prices include 3 days.
Race ends 6/8/08 at 3p-4p (guess).

I dont care how we get there...driving is ALWAYS a blast...but flying for $500 round trip doesnt sound too shabby either.
The hotel doenst matter either although i am a stickler for being in the action - so the number of stars the hotel has and the quality of the rooms really doesnt concern me as much as where it is located.
I have heard the GA is the way to go...that allows you to walk around and not be stuck looking at the same turn all day...but doing something VIPish where we could have access to a food/beer tent and prime seats would also rule too. Hmmm...
Id say for $2,000 per person we could do this weekend up juuuust right

I just want to be clear.....is this about the party or the racing? I am always down for a road trip and party......oh and alcohol, but the race......not so much. Did I mention that I am the road trip king! No planes needed.
The map is to show the proximity of the airport, hotels or downtown and the race track; if someone decides to fly up and walk, taxi or rent-a-car-it around.
Kevin- I believe much of the time will be spent away from the track. The actual race should be under 2 hours long; plenty of time to get smashed and find some Canucks.
Schedule:
6/6
Practice 1: 10a-1130a
Practice 2: 2p-3:30p
6/7
Practice: 10a-11a
Qualifying: 1p-???
6/8
Race: 1p-???
I just got word from my boy who lives in Montreal. He should be working at the track providing clothing for a beer sponsor. He says look at hotels on Sherbrooke street or De Maisonneuve.

well like I said I'm down, but the cheaper the better for me
although just for warning my products launch date may be right around that time so I may have to back out last minute but that will be worst case scenario

Same here Mike, that is why I want to know what I am dealing with…
As I see it now.
Cost:
Room-
($200-$700 per room with 2 twins) *(3 nights?) = ($600-$2100) / 2 people = $300-$1050
Race-
$125
Drive to Montreal-
[(470miles * 2) /15MPG] *$3.50 for fuel = $220 / 2 people = $110
So, without food, drinks and parking....$525 to $1285.
If we cut a day out,6/6, it will shave more than $240-$740 off the cost.
I wish some vets would comment….
Im done for today, I need a cheesesteak
