Ok, so I have a boat at home, and I'm looking to get my truck a lil more beefy to tow it around. It is more sentimental than anything, thats why I dont just buy another one. It's an old beater 89 GMC 1500 long bed, 2WD, V6 
. I'm looking at putting a chevy 350, as well as lifting it putting at least 35" tires, maybe 1 ton axles, and if possible to find a donor with 4WD to change it. I used to have a Dodge Ram 1500 w/ 35's, 4.10 gears and some other minor mods, so I know about gearing, lifts, axles, and that kind of stuff.
Has anyone done this, or point me in the direction to do it. Looking at what I have to buy before I start this project. Assuming I can't find a donor truck (which is what I'm hoping for). Or if anyone knows of one to let me know
