Thank you... It's Canon 40D.... as far as lessons - always shoot at the bigger aperture and take tons of the pics from different angles. For sure you'll find some you like...

So for the bigger aperature all I have to do is set the camera to the selectable aperature mode, select a bigger aperature, and have the camera do the rest? How about moving shots of the car? What settings should the camera be at?

Jay,
I would use 'M' ('manual mode on Canon) mode... I think Nikon calls it 'M', too. The reason is because sometimes if you use aperture-priority, the camera gets fooled by the light coming from all over. Say if you have your car in the shade on a bright day and use 'Aperture priority' mode, the shot will be under-exposed (too dark) because the camera 'thinks' it's bright enough... Same theory applies when you take interior shots of your car outdoor on a bright day. The light coming through the windows fools the camera that way.
As far as moving shots, use 'shutter-priority' mode (I think Nikon calls it 'TV mode) and set it to 1/60 of a second. You can ride in other car and shoot it that way or just stand along side the street and follow the car with your camera like this:

Hope that helps!

LOL! I always welcome some friendly competition. Inspires me to get even better!
Seriously aside, looks like you ended up with a great SUV! I rode one of those Cayenne Turbo S around Barber Motorsport and came away VERY impressed. Earlier in the day we had done some hard core 4wheeling too.

Atomic (Jason), LOL...i'm no competition. I like cars more than photography... Besides mine is not a turbo... Maybe one of these days I'll have a chance to ride in one. Thanks!
Hana, thank you, too!
