It is all good -- not taking it the wrong way...

I think you're missing the point of the BMW M lineup. The larger M5/M6 is not a sports car, but a fast sedan as you stated. That is target for the car. As for no torque, I sure hope you're referring to the high reving E30 and E46 M3 and not the V8 and V10s of the larger sedan. Torque is definitely present

Now I will definitely agree in stock form, BMW waters the M line up down. Unfortunately they give the buyer what they want. I can't tell you how many times I've read on forums that "my M rides too rough" or they are concerned about cup holders.... it's sad that the larger buyer group for the M cars aren't interested in performance over comfort.

You'll find that owners mod them to get some of that "raw" feeling that you're talking about. The stock suspension on my M5 was fine for crusing around town, but in all other forms way to soft for that boat of a car. Swapping out to an aftermarket setup has given the stance and handling it should have from the factory. No one here is trying to make it a sports car

Mike- I purposely don't test drive 993s for that reason...one will make it's way into my garage someday. Too many current projects to finish... or I just need to build a bigger garage

Again lets not even talk about that M5 pig.

Just kidding. It's a great car.
I was just trying to get on PJ's/Jason's nerve.

haha, not sure my wife would give up her roadster for a 993... and if she did I'd have to get the cabrio version for an even swap :P

and thanks for the offer however that may be very dangerous... for me
