I was there but didn't stay too long today, cold and rainy. I'm only 10mins away so its a good Saturday morning coffee run.

Only the true, die-hard automobile enthusiasts made it out today. Everyone else that melts in the rain or can't/won't take side streets due to a 1.5 mile closure of a freeway were too intimidated to make it out.

I didn't make it out because of work, not weather related. I'm not afraid of rain :-)

My cars love the rain. I won't go because it's 7am in Bellevue. How about 7am 45 minutes south and we'll talk.

We also went with a few Ferrari's around Mt Rainier yesterday.

It turns out the cars are made for driving not sitting on a street corner.

Mark, couldn't have said it better! To bad the roads around Rainier, are not so much as roads, as a Mountain Bike trail.

and that is the exact reason you have not seen me much this year. When we plan drives I am in when we plan coffee and pictures I have better things to do.

Yeah, I went exploring around Mt. Rainier too. SR - 123 is a long ways from being an acceptable road, and Skate Creek Rd. is getting pretty bad in places. In the park itself on Stevens Canyon and the Longmire roads tourist traffic is stifling. At least I didn't have to pay to get in - my senior citizen pass does have its' benefits. FS - 25 is still aways away from being passable due to last winters weather. Nearly 600 miles poking around was pretty tiring, but it beats standing around drinking Fu Fu drinks and watching people taking pictures of each others hub caps and hood ornaments.

It takes nearly an hour to drive somewhere where you can let the car off the leash. If people are willing to get started driving by no later than 9am, there are several routes here abouts that will get you to a lunch stop and back home by late afternoon.

For example: Leave the P&R lot off of I-405 at 160th at 9am and go to Mt Vernon for lunch. (Not much freeway driving).

I'm not interested in putting much effort into this, because the two or three one day drives I proposed in the past were pretty much blown off by the 6 speed crowd.
