June 7th Meet and BBQ

Hey everyone just wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a meet and BBQ on the 7th. Not sure of the location but preferably somewhere that is somewhat scenic. I heard Golden Gardens mentioned or maybe somewhere in Alki or Ruston Way? Just throwing it out there. I'm too lazy to PM Jody so lets do all the fine tuning and see if this works for people

i think i'd be available to go. i'll double check my autox schedule. =) i love bbq's. but, if i can't make it.....i'll be there in spirit! i'm kind of an eastside girlie, so i'm not really familiar with those locations. i'm sure whatever you plan or location you pick, it will be fine as long as the weather is okay! =)

yep yep. Gotta love freshly bbq'd food. Gives me an excuse to make a costco run

Eliseguy 05-27-2008 12:28 PM

Families are welcome too. The more the merrier.

CrazyRuskie 05-27-2008 01:13 PM

Depending on what time this will be, I might be able to make it!

detailjohn 05-27-2008 05:45 PM

Sounds great. Alki is great, but there's not much parking available. Golden Gardens or Madison Park might be nice. Let's bring some photographers with us too.

Sounds like a good time. I'm sure the family would like to come out too....

Grouse 05-27-2008 08:48 PM

June 7 is also the mount saint helens drive. It's usually alot of fun and spirited driving.

Stealth 993 05-27-2008 09:40 PM

I can walk to Ruston, so that would be great!

But that is the ST Helens day drive, so make it a PM meet after the drive, it's on the way home.

Redgoat™ 05-27-2008 10:25 PM

What about BBQing at the top of St helens? :)

Eliseguy 05-27-2008 11:44 PM

So what time works for everyone? I posted this on the Lotus forum as well to see what locations are best and will gauge a start time as well. I sorta wanna get there a bit early to secure parking spots. Also a tentative head count would be cool so that we can know how much food to bring.

Eliseguy 05-27-2008 11:46 PM

Oh yeah any music preferences? You can't have a BBQ without loud music to set the atmosphere

CrazyRuskie 05-27-2008 11:48 PM

Not rap? lol

Yeah not really a rap crowd. Unless everyone is like the guy on office space hilarious

H20SKIER 05-28-2008 12:33 AM

south i might show with my son. st helens drive i wouldn't take an 8 year old on.

last year no one really stayed up with me anyway. just when we got to traffic

Eliseguy 05-28-2008 06:24 AM

I am leaning towards ruston way. This way the north and east end people can show us that commute from the south how much they care for us :). Also families can take the kids to the zoo or even to the go carts later on in the day. There is also 5 mile drive

BoxsterGirlie01 05-28-2008 07:58 AM

^^any time works for me. i'll know for sure if i can make it by early next week. =) for those that can make it....what would you like everyone to bring? sodas, food, etc?

Eliseguy 05-28-2008 09:19 AM

I will bring burgers and hot dogs. Chicken if anyone prefers that over hot dogs.

But yeah jody sodas, condiments, and probably plates would be helpful :) we can split it up amongst the group

BoxsterGirlie01 05-28-2008 09:34 AM

^^sounds good! maybe a potluck style where everyone can bring a dish or snack? something like that?

Eliseguy 05-28-2008 10:40 AM

Yeah something like that. As long its not like my college ones where everyone brings napkins :)

vincentdds 05-28-2008 10:52 AM

Ruston way is better than Alki in terms of parking space and traffic. Very nice family atmosphere for those that wants to bring their kids.

BoxsterGirlie01 05-28-2008 11:01 AM

RB...at least they brought napkins. usually, it's a roll of paper towels! hehe!

are doggies welcome? i have a little terrier that may want to come out and meet everyone. he's a bit on the "portly" side, so don't laugh and embarrass him and hurt his little feelings! lol!!

mitchelrl 05-28-2008 11:32 AM

There's a dyno day in the morning at Carb Conn. $70 for 3-6 pulls on an AWD Dynojet.

Let me know if you want to meet up there and we can leave from there.

Eliseguy 05-28-2008 06:17 PM

Yep Dogs are welcome :)

BoxsterGirlie01 05-28-2008 06:19 PM

if anyone is going from the eastside, perhaps we can meet up before hand and drive down together. =)

Eliseguy 05-28-2008 06:28 PM

So now that we have nailed a location (Ruston Way). What time works for everyone?

BoxsterGirlie01 05-28-2008 06:30 PM

any time is fine w/ me. =) maybe 11:30? ish?

nize 05-28-2008 07:28 PM

Rent it from the same place you get the cars.

Where have you been? haven't seen you in my parking lot at work in a while

You obviously have no clue about Tacoma. This area is like Magnolia, & Upper Queen Ann. It's not to uncommon to see a F355 or a 911 @ the local coffee shop.

eric's office is actually right next to mine in Tacoma.

He's just a snob who lives in King County:D

So the PoPo came to your coffee shop on a F355 after someone called 911? Wow maybe I won't go....

Where've I been?...on the other side of the railroad tracks about a sand wedge away, as usual. I think you need a car lift over there too. It's getting a little tight.

I've spent the better part of 35 years in Tacoma and have been down Ruston Way just a time or two. It was all in good fun. Look forward to meeting you hopefully someday soon.
