365hp, 660 tq, 6 speed = my new ride
I used Cheap because Crapiest didn't seem polite.
Those MPG numbers work well on a 1/2 tons duramax but the 3/4 ton and 1 ton truck adds 2000lbs almost to the weight which hurts it.
They still get way better mpg than gas and are Well worth the dollar. Plus the torque of the Duramax with the Allison Transmission makes for a fantastic vehicle everyone should own....
Also I actually really like white
it isn't...
Ford/Chevy/GMC... I mean who really cares that much in the scope of 6speed? They are big hog trucks that pull stuff and haul stuff. They all drive like crap, suck down $5 per gallon gas, and have the typical crappy American interiors... yes they are getting better, but they are still way behind (this is officially known as "corvette syndrome")
David your truck is sweet.
Ben's FORD F350 Dually is also sweet.
Mark's GMC is pretty nice as well.
Congrats David -- I like the black better than the "golder" one!

All of my porsches don't compare and not one of you Porsche guys can say your car doesn't rattle rattle rattle. my trucks don't.
pj you should drive my truck someplace. BEST, most comfortable car or truck I own. without a question. very nice inside and without the lift kit and big tires they drive like a smooth caddy.

It should be the most comfortable car you own -- big huge comfy leather seats... like driving your couch around... I know! If I had more land/garage space... I would have a bigger truck than an F150... I hated getting rid of my F350...
with regards to crappy interiors, I was not meaning in terms of rattle, more in terms of aesthetics...
I really like the inside of my GMC and long trips are like PJ said like riding in a couch.
My italians though have nicer interiors imho....
I think the American interior has gotten way better over the years... my only real issues are all of the plastic buttons and *****, the whole cheap *** look of the center stack... and for some reason fake american wood looks so much cheaper than fake european wood
The "08 F350 Lariat with everything" that I just bought for our business is nice but has the same problem... it is not unique to GM products... and for the most part it goes across the whole american product line in my opinion...
Go sit in a cheap VW or Audi... they make "cheap" interiors look good!
The whole issue at hand in my opinion, is that there is no real competition... Ford and GM simply have to have a "nicer" interior than the other guy building big trucks... they do not have to "get significanly better"...
I may be the only one thinking this... but I can tell you that the interior of the 2004 X5 my wife is driving looks way better than than a 2008 loaded explorer, blazer, ascadia, saturn, buick, etc..
Look at the interior shots of the American Halo Cars -- Challenger SRT, Shelby GT500 Mustang (even the $85K KR Mustang), Corvette etc -- they all have a sort of ugly cheapness about the interiors and most of it is due to the materials used... and the fact that I get the same looking radio in a loaded chevy Cobalt SS as I do in my $100K supercharged ZR1 is gross IMHO
This is only my opinion but I am fairly certain I am not alone on this...
I think the 996 interior looks like crap compared to the 997 interior... but I disagree with Mark thinking that the Porsche interiors are bad...sure they have not changed all that drastically and maybe they would be boring to me as well if I had like 9 Porsches...
When I rode in Vincent's former 997 GT3, I thought the interior was pretty nice.
I do agree with Mark on the Ferrari interiors... holy crap they are nice... they should be though... and they are.

most work trucks are being used for just that...Work. If you have been on as many construction sites as I you will see most of the guys have sausage links for fingers. hell some jump in with their work gloves still on. Ask one of your tech guys to hop in the truck after work or a BMW X5 and see what fits better I think you will find that the truck is very utilitarian for a reason.
Hell bro i do not want to point fingers but what ***** are easier for you to use the Porsche small buttons or hop in the truck and turn a **** and go? Not saying that you have sausage links for fingers....OK maybe I am.

I have seen american concept trucks that have nice looking interiors... they just cannot make the jump to production.
Note that I was not comparing the X5 to "work" trucks... but to like American vehicles...
I guess it was and always will be function following form on this instead of the other way around. I am sure there has been a ton of research done and probably coincides with the tendency of the American worker having carpel tunnel and arthritis. Big ***** easy to use easy to read letters/numbers.

I just do not think it would be that difficult to make it look good as well
I do not think that functional and ugly are synonomous...
Best american interiors are GM for sure -- the CTS, the Denali, etc...
You all know I am right
Stop bickering with me
I was shocked at just how nice and solid quality the new CTS interior is (and the pics of the 09' V interior look even better), imo better then BMW and even if not slightly better then Audi. New BMW's have gotten noticeably cheaper inside, even on high end models, E39 M5 interior > E60 M5 interior. Layout, quality etc.
As far as the truck, congrats, get rid of the dpf and get an intake and tune, the dpf and regen mode suck donkey *****, causes all the new diesels to get horrible mileage compared to before. Much better mileage, smoothness and power doing above and lower egts.
