possible new addition

Although I've been considering getting a mini for a gas miser car there are still some things about it that I'm not sold on. Taking it down to Fife for service is definitely not a high point.

In any case, I've been looking at scooters as a fun possiblity. Turns out that someone backed out of their deposit on a Buddy 125 at Ducati Seattle. I put a deposit down on it and have it held for a couple day. More specs here . After exotics on main I'll be headed over to make sure the color and scooter are a fit. Maybe I should get this one to match the Gallardo

I believe that requires a motorcycle endorsement on your drivers license.

Sweet. Do they make performance parts for it? Maybe a chamber muffler bigger carb, carbon fiber accents?

Is there enough sunny days in Seattle to justify owning it.

How much of a pain is it to drive to Fife for service? They give you loaner cars? Any weekend dropoffs?

I had spec'd out a Mini S for right around $30k. It is very tempting. I used to require my Toureg b/c I'd be shipping 20+ PCs around each week and dropping them off at different places. Now that I shut down that business my Touareg space is kinda overkill. I'm sure a Mini would work just as well for getting, or taking friends, to the airport. That's about the only time the Touareg is necessary.

Yup, it does. Not a problem though b/c I used to have a Yamaha YZF600R and have kept my endorsement even though I haven't had a bike in 4+ years. I sold it when I bought the Touareg.

I was tempted to get a SV650 but I know this will mostly just be for running around on errands and occasional commuting. I don't need to get on any highways in my commute. And this actually has storage space under the seat so it'd work fine for the amount of groceries I normally get. And, honestly, it just seems like it'd be fun. Always good to have multiple options for fun modes of transportation.

Apparently Genuine Scooters has a good accessory and after market lineup. But the reason I picked this one is that its one of the quicker 125s available.

I will say I just looked at the price and they are much cheaper than the Vespas. Half or so. that's not bad price.

Well I think servicing my Ferrari's is a pain. Mini only has a couple thousand miles on it so no service yet but my office is only 10 minutes from there so that's not a problem. I live south. So all the north stuff sucks for me. My racecar's were serviced by Cantrell. Had to sucker my retired dad to haul them up and back from there....

I can tell you I've driven almost every car made and the mini I drive I have fun everytime and it's very comfortable for driving around you'll really like it and you can drive it in the rain. I'll still end up with some vespas I'm sure but the woman tells me to play with all my HotWheels first than get new toys for the garage.

Taking it to Fife is easy & they give you a loaner. Not sure about the weekend stuff. Mark & I are both South Enders, so it's much eaiser.

I know a couple of places in Seattle that will service your car, but it will not be the free factory service.

I would go & drive one, they are very deceptive, & very fun to drive! I like the fact that I can fit into spots that other people pass over.

You should sell a couple of her handbags to Yoogi, then get the Vespa. If she has a white bag, keep that for yourself for when you're riding it.
