I'm supposed to get a ride in an F-18 sometime; not sure if it'll pan out, but I live in hope

Tell me how? I've been trying and looking to get a ride in a jet anywhere in this country and still the best I can find is a Mig in Russia. I'll stick with my occassional Gulfstream rides I guess for now but as you say Hope for the best

I bought a ride with the Blue Angels at a charity auction a year ago. The organizer is still saying that it "should" happen, but let's just say that my confidence is low...

It's amazing the number of auction items you can never end up with. Years ago I just started giving the items away and taking the whole right off. Well at least the total the US gov't allows for certain income levels. I'm about 80% straight cash donations now for my year just because of that problem. I never care much but a trip in the Blue's would be something I'd be waiting for at the tarmack.

Indeed. I was completely gutted when it didn't come together at SeaFair which was the time I had assumed it would be. I think this is probably the next-best-thing:

They come to Seattle usually around SeaFair time period.

I've done that and it's not even close to a jet ride. It's fun and the planes are really cool. Love to have one. So far the closest thing to a jet ride I've had is 175mph down Indy's straight next to 35 other Porsches

I have asked my cousin about a ride and he said that since 9/11 it is virtually impossible to arrange "citizen hops"

I was not asking about blue angles, or big auction donations... just a "I am your cousin, can you get me up there in a jet and make me puke" type of a request...

If you can get Ferrari to paint a scuderia a Porsche color, I have no doubt if you put your mind to it, you can get into a military jet...

Nice pic. I remember when I was deployed you'd be able to see B2's circling waiting for the call to bomb a target almost as fun as watching 4 apaches take off and go let off some steam.

Mark I can maybe get you a ride in a C130 haha

I'd love a ride in one of those (new version I mean the C17) for me and the gang. They go over my office all the time and I always tell the guys I want one for Xmas....

I'll see if my buddy is still stationed at McChord. For new years in Iraq they had a few C130 drop flares and shot off the Anti-Air guns with tracers. Was a good show.
