Years ago I dated a young woman who was an X-ray technician. The Life of the Party; claimed she could drink anyone under the table. And, actually, she could. But it was odd. She'd drink for quite some time, seem completely sober, then pass out.
I picked her up from work to go out one night and got there just a little early to find her in one of the exam rooms, downing a glass of barium. So, this stuff is like heavy duty Pepto, it coated her stomach & didn't let any alcohol through, until it washed off -- then pow -- she was unconscious.
Mystery solved. It seemed less than smart behavior, so the relationship didn't last long. But, she remained the life of the party (probably until the last brain cell was fried).

Its only funny because it's true. We don't have a blood alcohol level, we have a alcohol blood level... how much blood do we have running through the alcohol in our veins...
