Damn Hamilton is running a huge fuel load. 688 kilos total car weight (28 kilos more than Jenson Button), and qualifies in 13th (on the grid in 12th thanks to Vettel's penalty).
After his drive last race we we just may see him take first from that position.

And if he can keep his mouth closed, he might keep it. =)
Can someone explain how qualifying works? I see there are 3 qual groups. Some are eliminated after each qualifying session right? How many cars do they start with and end up with after the 3 qualifying groups?
Q1: All (20) Cars, only the top 15 make it to the next round.
Q2: 15 Remaining cars, only the top 10 make it to the next round.
Q3: 10 Remaining cars, must declare and run with race fuel load, fastest one gets the pole.

So Massa didn't make it out of Q1, but managed to start 16th it looks like. Is it based just on his lap time then?
Are they based on a points system like nascar or something where you get points for pole, leading so many laps, etc.....

Q2: Decides grid positions 11-15.
Q3: Decides grid positions 1-10
No points system whatsoever.
